Student Essay Prize

Submissions are invited for the Design History Society Essay Prizes, established in 1997 to foster and support high standards in design history research in higher education. The awards recognise exceptional student contributions to the field of design history. Two essay prizes are awarded annually; one to an undergraduate student and the other to a postgraduate (MA or PhD) student and 4 runner up prizes.

Research Access Award (Student)

The Research Access Award (Student) is awarded by the DHS bi-annually to encourage and support research activity amongst students in the field of design history. The award is open to all student members of the Society.

Student Member Speaker Bursaries for DHS Annual Conference

The Design History Society has a bursary fund to assist DHS Student members whose papers have been accepted for presentation at our annual conference. The Society endeavours to provide bursaries for up to 5 DHS Student members presenting at the Annual Conference. Each bursary includes the DHS member concessionary conference fee at the early bird rate, attendance at the gala dinner and up to £200 towards travel and accommodation costs.
