Assistant Teaching or Practice Professor of Interior Design

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

The Department of Interior Design is seeking a full-time (9 month) assistant teaching or practice professor for the Fall 2020. Qualified applicants must demonstrate ability to teach in one or more areas of an academic interior design program.

Required Minimum Qualifications:

-For the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice: Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of relevant industry experience.

-For the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor: Master’s Degree in Interior Design or Related Field (e.g., MFA, MID, M Arch, MS, MA).

-NCIDQ certifications.


Preferred Qualifications:

-LEED certification, WELL certification, or other relevant certification(s).

-Experience in teaching interior design studios and/or lecture courses at the University level, in one or more areas (hand-drafting and rendering, building and fire codes, computer visualization - AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp Adobe CreativeSuite).

-Professional Practice Experience.
