The Department of Art, Graphic Design, and Art History at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater invites applications for the position of Department Head, to begin July or August 2020.Candidates must currently hold the rank of either Associate or Full Professor, and hold a terminal degree in their field. The successful candidate will lead the faculty in establishing a long-term vision for the future of the department. Position is to begin July or August 2020.

Additional highlights about our Graphic Design program:

The OSU Graphic Design program is the largest in the department with five tenured and tenure track faculty and more than 150 students. It is housed in the Bartlett Center for Visual Arts. Student works consistently garner top regional and national awards, and graduates have a high rate of placement in top industry positions. The newly created MFA in graphic design, in its third year and growing, is unique in the Midwest region for its interdisciplinary, motion, and interaction design emphasis.

In addition to design studios and labs, Art Department facilities include: dedicated graduate space (aka Studio 101), Risograph printers, Laser cutters, 3D printers, Plasma cutter, Photography facilities (darkroom and digital labs), large format printers, and technology resources (iPads, cameras, light kits, etc.). External resources include the Prairie Arts Center, OSU Museum of Art (containing major Kravis design collection), Virtual Reality Lab (College of Human Sciences), and the newly inaugurated McKnight Center for Performing Arts
