The V&A is seeking to appoint a Curatorial Fellow in furniture history to join the Furniture, Textiles and Fashion Department.

Supported by the Oliver Ford Trust, this is an exceptional opportunity for an aspiring or early career curator to gain curatorial experience and to develop expertise in furniture of the long eighteenth-century. This is a new role at the V&A and arises from the Ford Trust's desire to encourage the development of object-based expertise in the museum sector.

The successful candidate will already have demonstrable expertise in at least one aspect of furniture of the long eighteenth-century (British and/or western European) and, preferably, in the wider history of eighteenth-century design and decorative arts, as well as a sound general knowledge of furniture history. Candidates with a practical, academic or curatorial furniture-related background are welcome to apply.

Interviews to be held on 26 or 28 September 2017. Further details can be accessed here.
