The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation (KADK) invites applications for a permanent, full-time position as a professor with a particular focus on design history and design theory.

We are looking for a visionary professional profile who is dedicated to delivering results and disseminating knowledge, and who can contribute to further development and rethinking of the design history and design theory field in relation to the development of the design degree programme and Danish society. The professorship focuses on how Danish design heritage has contributed to the development of the welfare society as we know it today, and how the spread of design methodology to other domains, new design concepts, new technology, including digital design, will contribute to developing tomorrow's society.

You will be expected to be able to add current scientific weight at the highest level to the subject area, as we wish to strengthen the subject area of design history and design theory, and to supplement our research and teaching competences in the area and strengthen our networks and collaborations – both nationally and internationally.

The vacant professorship, which is affiliated with the Institute of Visual Design, should ideally be filled as of 1 June 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.
