The Design History Society Archive

The Design History Society and Northumbria University are jointly funding a PhD Studentship to look at the development of Design History in Britain since the 1970s, focussing on the role of the Design History Society and development of the subject within a wider interdisciplinary context. This research will utilise the Society's papers which are currently being consolidated to form the Design History Society Archive

The papers are being stored in the School of Arts and Social Sciences at Northumbria University, and are currently being sorted to identify key areas of documentation that are lacking. Following this initial stage, the PhD Research Student for this project, Jo Lewis, will contact individuals who might have items that would enhance the archive.

If you feel that you have documents that rightly belong within the archive Jo would be very interested to hear from you. Please contact her by e-mail in the first instance giving a brief description of the nature of the information and your contact details.
