Conference Liaison officer, Design History Society
The conference liaison officer serves on the executive committee to represent the interests of those studying the history of design at all levels of higher education.
Key responsibilities:
• Liaising closely with the DHS Annual Conference convener and convening institution, advising on:
o All aspects of academic convening
o All aspects of budget planning
o All aspects of conference organisation
o Submission of final accounts to DHS, and
o Facilitating access to DHS, JDH, OUP as necessary
• Ensuring DHS Chair and Treasurer are fully conversant with all conference expenditure.
• Responsible for co-ordinating and arranging all DHS events at the Annual Conference, as agreed with the DHS Chair and Treasurer.
• Responsible for co-ordinating and arranging DHS, JDH and OUP presence at the conference.
• Responsible for co-ordinating all aspects of DHS Annual Conference post-graduate speaker's grants, in liaison with the DHS Secretary and Treasurer.
• Responsible for liaising with prospective conference conveners, offering advice as necessary.
• Liaising with other Trustees regarding updating of the DHS Annual Conference Guidelines.
• Responsible for over-seeing all aspects of DHS Day Seminars, in liaison with the Trustees.
• Responsible for updating DHS Annual Conference and Day Seminar web pages in liaison with the DHS Communications Officer.
• Liaising with other Trustees to develop new opportunities for the DHS Annual Conference and Day Seminars.
Applicants are requested to fill in and submit the attached nomination form to the DHS secretary, Charlotte Nicklas (charlottenicklas@hotmail.com) by Monday, 23 January 2012. The new postholders will be selected by the DHS Executive Committee at the Executive Committee meeting on 28 January 2012. The Executive Committee meets four times a year, with the following meeting scheduled for April 2012.
