DHS Network Co-ordinator

May 1st 2008

The Design History Society is looking to enhance the activities of the Executive Committee with the appointment of Network Co-ordinator. This voluntary position will replace the regional coordinator in recognition of the increasingly international constituency of the Society and the need to develop and participate in a variety of institutional and subject networks.

The roles and responsibilities are described below, but the job requires attendance at Design History Executive meetings in London and the Society’s annual conference; attendance at international and national conferences; and representation on national committees as and when required.

Roles and responsibilities

  • To participate in the planning and development of new networks (particularly national and international ones) germane to the Design History Society and related subjects.
  • To audit and map existing regional, national and international networks connected to the activities of the Design History Society.
  • To encourage and engage with associated networks.
  • To represent the Design History Society at appropriate national and international event and networks.
  • To develop appropriate partnerships.
  • To develop a framework for taking this forward.
